In the course of changing social framework conditions, and not least due to economic reasons, the number of large, supra-regional hospitals has constantly grown in the last decades. And, due to the ageing society, the number of retirement and nursing homes is increasing, too. To reflect this evolution, the legislature has significantly tightened the building regulations regarding fire protection of these institutions. Eupen Cable is, for instance, producing cables for this segment, which, in case of fire, assure the maintenance of the power supply during evacuation and firefighting.
