Medium voltage power cables

Eupen Cable can look back on a long-term experience regarding the production of medium voltage power cables and is offering a large variety of high-quality cables for voltage levels from 6 kV up to 36 kV. The different requirements regarding voltage level, method and place of installation, longitudinal and/or transversal water tightness as well as for the cable armor, demand for specific cable constructions. We are producing medium voltage cables according to national, European or international standards such as NBN HD 620, DIN/VDE 0276-620 or IEC 60502-2. Eupen Cable is also able to adapt the design individually and to offer customized solutions. We offer medium voltage power cables in the following designs:

  • In the cross-sectional area from 25 up to 500 mm² (for XLPE-insulated class 2 copper conductors) resp. from 50 up to 630 mm² (for XLPE-insulated class 2 aluminum conductors).
  • Basic configuration: as a single core cable for laying in trefoil or in layers or as 3-core-cable or as three pre-assembled single-core cables (with or without additional earth core).
  • Screens: consisting of either concentrically applied copper wires on the core with a counter helix, or consisting of two layers of copper tape or following customer-specific requirements.
  • Water tightness: longitudinal water tightness by means of swelling elements and/or transversal water tightness by means of aluminum tape laminated to the outer sheath.
  • Armour: non-magnetic aluminum wire or tape armours for single-core cables respective galvanized steel wire or tape armours for 3-core-cables.
  • Outer sheath: Polyethylene (PE) or Polyvinylchloride (PVC) or halogen-free compounds for special requirements in case of fire.

Besides the actual cable supply, we are pleased to offer technical advice and assistance for selecting and procuring the suitable accessories, as cable joints and terminations.

Upon request, we can supply a Declaration of Performance (DoP) for cable types which are incorporated in a permanent manner in buildings. You can easily download all DoP for our medium voltage power cables from our “DoP Finder” These cables are also CE marked according to EN 50575 and the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Close
