Geothermal energy is increasingly being used for emission-free and thus environmentally friendly energy production – as an alternative to finite fossil fuels. Water, often mixed with antifreeze, flows through pipes laid in the ground. During the winter time, the temperature of the liquid in the ground rises and transports the heat into the houses via a heat pump. This leads to energy production, which is used to heat the buildings. While in the summer time, the colder liquid will cool the houses in the same way.
Eupen Pipe has developed special PE100-RC pipes for geothermal energy. These pipes are ideal for near-surface applications and geothermal probes. They are long-lasting and highly resistant and ensure an optimal use of the potential of geothermal power.
