World’s first 7/8’’ radiating cable optimised for 5G applications […]
Kabelwerk EUPEN AG is expanding its EUCARAY® product portfolio with a new 7/8" radiating cable optimised for 5G in the 3.5 GHz band.
[…] High-speed internet access via mobile devices in trains or metros has become commonplace. With the introduction of 5G, a new frequency range from 3400 to 3800 MHz will be used to provide additional services. For over 40 years, radiating cables have been the best solution for transmitting radio frequencies in challenging environments such as tunnels or subways. Until now, large low loss cables such as 1-5/8″ have been preferred because they offered the lowest longitudinal attenuation. However, these new bands are above the cut-off frequencies for such large cables so manufacturers such as Eupen must develop alternative solutions.
With its new EUCARAY® RMC78-G, Kabelwerk EUPEN AG has developed a 7/8″ cable that features, despite its smaller diameter, low longitudinal attenuation and low coupling losses up to 3.8 GHz. From 150 MHz up to 3.8 GHz, this cable shows homogenous system loss, so that several applications can be covered with a single cable. MiMo transmission is also supported by the EUCARAY® RMC78-G thanks to its patented slot design, so that nothing can stand in the way of 5G deployment in train or metro tunnels in the new 3.5 GHz band.
